Alexander Babin
Alexander Babin was born in 1951 in the town of Beryozovsk of Sverdlovsk area. He has started to draw when he was 12. In 1972 he finished Nizhnetagilskaya School of applied arts with specialty of “art processing of metal”. Then Alexander worked at the Krasnoselsky experimental jeweler workshop, in filigree technique that subsequently will have an effect on special “Babin’s” composition canons. Since 1977 Babin was engaged only in painting. Since 1987 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Landscapes of Russian province, life sketches of small streets of country towns of Russia, these are Babin's basic plots. Alexander Babin is a son of the remarkable original artist and sculptor Zynaida Petrovna Babina, and a brother of the artist Valery Iosifovich Babin.
